The 3 Phases of Chiropractic Care

Phase 1: Relief Care

The first phase of your treatment program was referred to as Relief Care or the Intensive Care portion, and was designed to eliminate or reduce your major complaint and stabilize your condition.

Phase 2: Reconstructive Care

The second phase, Reconstructive Care, was designed to strengthen your spine further and  improve its function.  This phase is assisted by the bodies self healing capabilities.

Phase 3: Wellness Care (Maintenance Care)

The third and final stage of your treatment program, known as Wellness Care, is designed to maintain your improved health and spinal function, rid the spine of newly acquired subluxations before they cause   symptoms or degenerative damage and of course to prevent the original condition from returning.

Wellness Care is needed to maintain the progress that has been made in treating your condition. Chiropractic is not only concerned with getting you out of pain and reaching the maximum correction possible. It is equally as concerned with maintaining whatever improvements that have been made.

Many of the conditions treated by Doctors of Chiropractic have developed over years, decades or even over a lifetime, so it would be unrealistic to think these problems could be eliminated in just a few short weeks or even months. Treating chronic, degenerative conditions takes time. The majority of your treatment plan, in terms of time, will consist of wellness visits.

How Long Does Wellness Care Last?

The frequency during this phase will differ from patient to patient depending on the nature of the condition and on how much improvement was made during the Intensive Care and Reconstructive Care phases.  However, it is most common for Wellness Care to run anywhere from two years to life.  Your Doctor of Chiropractic is highly trained in observing and documenting the progress that has been made in your condition and will rely upon this training and experience in evaluating your case and making recommendations on your treatment.  That being said, when deciding your health goals/expectations, logic, common sense and your memory play the biggest roll.  Along the lines that health-minded people do not base their dietary or exercise habits on pain.   They maintain those habits because they know they play an essential role in their health, vitality, and longevity.  Likewise, Chiropractic can and should become a new health habit if you believe it played a part in removing symptoms.

Testimonials

I have been going to Dr. Jeremy for a week now and couldn't be happier. When I showed up at his office I couldn't hardly walk. After the first visit I could walk again without being in pain.
